Belize Visa

Belize (North America)

Known as the Work Where You Vacation program, Belize’s digital nomad visa allows remote workers to have temporary residency and live in the country for six months with the possibility to extend it. Applicants can bring their families to Belize.

Belize Digital Nomad Visa Requirements

  • Valid Passport – Passport must be valid for at least 6 months at the time of applying

  • Work Remotely – Must be employed by, own a business, or freelance with clients outside

  • Earn $75,000 per year – Earn $100,00 per year if bringing your family

  • Travel Insurance Policy –$50,000 coverage in Belize

  • Clean Criminal Record –Must not have a criminal history

  • Processing Time – Up to 5 weeks

  • Visa Fee – $250

  • Visa Duration – 6 months

Steps to Apply

Step 1: Gather Documents

All of your documents must be in English, and you should have the originals and copies.

  • Original and Copy of Passport

  • Proof of Income Through Notarized Bank Statements

  • Proof of Remote Work

  • Criminal Background Check (no more than 6 months old)

  • Travel Insurance Policy

Step 2: Complete Application

It may also be referred to as a Temporary Residence Visa application on some websites and by the Belizean embassies.

Step 3: Submit Application & Documents

You may submit your application and documents at the nearest Belizean embassy or consulate in the country where you reside. You can also apply online with the Immigration Department to send your application and documents via email.

Step 4: Wait for Approval

Up to 5 weeks. You’ll receive your approval via email.


Step 5: Travel to Belize & Pay Visa Fee

Once approved, you can travel to Belize with all of your documents, application, and visa email. When you arrive at the airport, you will pay a $250 visa fee.
