Indonesia, especially Bali, has been a long-time favourite digital nomad destination. Now, remote workers are officially welcomed with the new Indonesia digital nomad visa.
Officially known as the Remote Worker Visa (E33G) Program, the visa was launched in April 2024.
Visa validity of one year with an opportunity to renew it for a second year.
Indonesia Digital Nomad Visa Requirements
Valid Passport – Passport must be valid for at least 18 months with at least three blank pages at the time of applying
Work Remotely as an Employee – You must work as an employee for a company established outside of Indonesia. If you are a freelancer or business owner, consider applying for the B211a visa.
Earn $60,000 USD per year – You must prove you meet the minimum income requirement through payslips and bank statements
Have $2,000 USD in the Bank – You must prove your bank balance meets the required amount for at least three months
Address of Accommodations – You must present a lease or reservation of where you will stay in Indonesia

It’s important to note that the following nationalities are not eligible for the Indonesia digital nomad visa: Afghanistan, Cameroon, Guinea, Israel, Kosovo, Liberia, Nigeria, North Korea, and Somalia.
Steps to Apply
The Indonesia digital nomad visa has a simple online application process that can be done anywhere in the world.

Step 2: Submit Application
You will submit your Indonesia digital nomad visa application through the online portal.
There is a $150 USD application fee for the e-visa.
Processing time takes about one week.
When your visa application has been approved you have 90 days to enter Indonesia.
Step 3: Apply for KITAS
Once you arrive in Indonesia with your digital nomad visa, you must apply for your temporary residence card, otherwise known as Kartu Ijin Tinggal Terbatas (KITAS). You will be able to apply for this online.
There is a $165 USD (IDR 2,700,000) fee for the permit of stay.
